BSU Rector Highlights University–Society Partnerships at THE Eurasian Universities Summit
At the Times Higher Education (THE) Eurasian Universities Summit, held in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Baku State University (BSU) Rector Elchin Babayev took part as a speaker in the panel discussion “Rethinking University–Society Partnerships.”
The discussion explored how universities can reimagine their role in society by developing sustainable and effective educational initiatives, supporting local economic development and fostering partnerships based on mutual benefit.
In his address, Rector Babayev stressed that universities should not only focus on education and research but also actively contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities. He outlined BSU’s initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening collaboration with local communities and advancing the region’s sustainable development.
The panel was moderated by Thomas Auf der Heyde, Vice President of the University of Constructor in Germany, and also featured Sybille Reichert, Director of Reichert Consulting for Higher Education.
