BSU Rector Meets with Azerbaijani Students Studying at Anhui University
During his visit to Hefei, China, Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev met with BSU and Azerbaijani students studying at Anhui University. The meeting was also attended by the leadership of Anhui University’s School of International Education, including its Dean, Hu Jian.
The meeting focused on the students’ international educational experiences, academic and research activities, social engagement, and future career prospects. It was noted that a group of BSU students is currently studying at Anhui University within the framework of a dual degree program. The program is implemented under the “International Chinese Language Education” agreement between BSU, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China, and Anhui University. Its main objective is to promote educational exchange between Azerbaijan and China, strengthen inter-university cooperation, and utilize Anhui University’s strong expertise in Chinese language and literature.
Under the program, students studying Chinese complete their first and second years at BSU, followed by their third and fourth years at Anhui University. In addition to academic studies, they benefit from international education and cultural exchange opportunities that contribute to the development of their professional skills and practical knowledge.
The meeting was also attended by students and trainees participating in various scholarship programs who are enhancing their educational experience in China through the Confucius Institute at BSU.
Rector Elchin Babayev commended the students for their academic achievements, emphasizing that their professional and personal development aligns with BSU’s strategic goals. Hu Jian, Dean of the School of International Education at Anhui University, noted that the students receive comprehensive academic and personal support throughout their studies.
During the discussion, students shared their experiences of studying abroad, adapting to new cultural environments, and expanding their academic horizons. They expressed gratitude to both BSU and Anhui University for their continuous support and highlighted the significant role of international education in their personal and professional growth.
