As part of the “Kazakhstan – Territory of Academic Knowledge” Strategic Partners Forum held in Astana, Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU), met with Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on strengthening research and innovation cooperation between universities of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, expanding academic exchange, and developing joint master's and doctoral programs.

They also discussed implementing joint research projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, green energy, environmental technologies, and digital transformation, as well as establishing next-generation research laboratories.

Under the agreement signed in 2020, BSU and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University are jointly implementing an English-language dual degree program in Maritime and Energy Law. The meeting also addressed the program’s current achievements, ways to improve education quality, international accreditation opportunities, and the inclusion of new specializations in the future.
