BSU Rector Participates in II Kazakhstan–Azerbaijan Universities Rectors Forum
Rector of Baku State University (BSU), Elchin Babayev, participated in the II Kazakhstan–Azerbaijan Universities Rectors Forum held in Almaty.
At the opening ceremony, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, addressed participants, outlining prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in higher education.
In his remarks, Elchin Babayev emphasized that education and science are key drivers of sustainable development, highlighting the growing importance of international collaboration in this field. He noted that emerging areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and green technologies are reshaping the agenda of inter-university cooperation.
He further identified priority areas for future collaboration, including the establishment of joint research centers, the introduction of co-supervision mechanisms at the doctoral level, and the creation of platforms for young scientists. Babayev reaffirmed BSU’s commitment to strengthening ties with its Kazakh partners.
As part of the forum, a signing ceremony for cooperation documents was held. BSU signed memorandums of understanding with Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University and Ablay Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, as well as letters of intent with Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University and Atyrau Oil and Gas University. These agreements focus on the implementation of dual degree programs, joint research activities, and the expansion of academic exchange.
