BSU Rector Speaks at EduData Summit 2025

Rector of Baku State University (BSU), Elchin Babayev, took part in a panel discussion titled “The University of 2030: What Will Your Institution Look Like?” during the EduData Summit 2025 held in Singapore. The summit was organized by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based agency specializing in higher education services.

In his speech, Rector Babayev outlined BSU’s strategic vision, goals, and key projects aimed at transforming higher education during this period of transition. He highlighted the university’s commitment to building a flexible and digital learning environment that meets the evolving needs of students—while preserving its traditional academic model.

He emphasized BSU’s expanding collaboration with industry, tech companies, and international academic institutions. In particular, he noted the critical role of artificial intelligence in reshaping education, stressing the need to redesign universities into institutions that not only transmit knowledge but also foster innovation-driven human capital and contribute to societal development.

Babayev also presented BSU’s initiatives in AI ethics, including research being conducted at the newly established Department of AI Ethics. He shared insights into the university’s efforts to explore the deeper implications of artificial intelligence and to develop responsible AI systems.
