BSU Rector Speaks at QS Eurasia Forum 2025
Baku State University (BSU) Rector Elchin Babayev delivered a speech at a session of the QS Eurasia Forum 2025, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, under the theme “Broadening Horizons: Building Global Bridges in Higher Education.”
The session, titled “Masterclass | Building the Bridge: How to Foster New International Partnerships,” was moderated by QS Regional Director Sergey Khristolyubov.
The discussion focused on international cooperation, the development of strategic partnerships in higher education, and sustainable institutional growth models. The panel featured contributions from Rufat Azizov, Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry; László Vasa, Director of the School of Doctoral Studies at István Széchenyi University; and Jamilya Gulyamova, Deputy Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan.
In his address, Rector Elchin Babayev highlighted the role of BSU’s international cooperation strategy in strengthening academic development, enhancing research capacity, ensuring institutional sustainability, and increasing global visibility. He outlined the university’s key international priorities, including student and faculty mobility programs, the establishment of international faculties and institutes, implementation of dual degree programs, participation in international grant projects, engagement in global associations and academic networks, and active collaboration with major international ranking agencies.
