29/09/2025

A delegation of doctoral and undergraduate students from Baku State University (BSU) is participating in the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2025), being held in Sydney, Australia, from September 29 to October 3, 2025. As part of Azerbaijan’s National Science Team, BSU is represented by SABAH students Bakhtiyar Novruzov and Nuray Safarli, as well as BSU graduate and doctoral student Gemze Yahyayeva, who are presenting the university and the country at this prestigious event.

This year’s congress is themed “Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth.” It explores the contribution of space technologies to the sustainable development of our planet and attracts more than 10,000 participants from across the globe.

BSU students and young researchers — Bakhtiyar Novruzov, Nuray Safarli, Fidan Sardarova, Aisha Khalilli, Gemze Yahyayeva, and Iskander Mamedov — are delivering presentations on a range of topics at the congress.

Their papers address key issues such as the analysis of space data using big data and analytics, protecting astronauts from cosmic radiation, and teaching schoolchildren about the integration of chemistry and space science.
