BSU Research Fellow Presents on Diagnostic Approaches to Bee Diseases at International Conference
Elvira Tehmezli, a research fellow at the Cell Culture and Genome Editing Laboratory of the Center for Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation at Baku State University (BSU), delivered a presentation on “The Importance of Diagnosing Bee Diseases” at the international scientific-practical conference titled “Strategies for Addressing Challenges Arising from Bee Diseases.”
The conference, held in the city of Sheki, brought together researchers, practitioners, and industry representatives to discuss current issues affecting apiculture. The event was jointly organized by the Professional Association of Beekeepers and the Ginyatogullary Beekeeping Farm.
In her presentation, Tehmezli emphasized the critical role of early and accurate diagnosis in mitigating the spread and impact of infectious and parasitic diseases in bee populations. She highlighted contemporary diagnostic techniques and the potential of molecular tools in improving the health and sustainability of apiculture. Her contribution underscored the intersection of scientific research and practical application in promoting the resilience of bee colonies, which are vital to biodiversity and agricultural productivity.
