BSU Scholars Present Papers at Symposium in Kazakhstan

A delegation from Baku State University presented papers at the International Symposium on “The Legacy of the First Baku Turkological Congress and the Turkic World in the 21st Century,” held in Almaty.

At the plenary session of the symposium, Academician Nizami Jafarov, Head of the Department of General Linguistics at the Faculty of Philology, delivered a paper titled “Azerbaijani Turks at the First Turkological Congress.”

During the second sectional session, Professor Magerram Mamedov, Head of the Department of Turkology at the Faculty of Philology, presented a paper on “Directions for the Development of Turkology at the First Baku Turkological Congress.”

At the same session, Musa Marjanly, Director of the BSU Center for Cultural Heritage Studies, delivered a presentation titled “Preservation and Promotion of the Common Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World.”

At the fifth breakout session of the symposium, Associate Professor Ikbal Agayev, Head of the Department of Asian and African History at the Faculty of History, presented a paper entitled “The Musical World of Shusha in the Context of Turkic Heritage: From Historical Memory to a Common Future.”

In the concluding part of the symposium, Academician Nizami Jafarov emphasized the significance of the event for the scientific integration of the Turkic world, noting that the ideas and principles of the First Baku Turkological Congress continue to remain relevant today.
