BSU Scientists Participate in Discussion on "Ecological View of Education"

The Head of the Department of Ecological Chemistry at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University (BSU), Professor Sevinj Hajiyeva, and Associate Professor of the Department of Bioecology, Firuza Sultan-zade, served as speakers in the "Ecological View of Education" section of the Republican Conference "Extracurricular Education: Challenges and Prospects."

Organized by the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, the panel session explored the impact of environmental education on the worldview of children and young people, the development of environmental awareness, and the promotion of a responsible approach to addressing environmental issues through education. Key topics included the role of environmental education in extracurricular programs, ongoing projects in this area, and the involvement of young people in solving environmental challenges.

Sevinj Hajiyeva highlighted the importance of universities in environmental education and shared strategies for equipping young people with both environmental knowledge and practical skills. She also discussed the integration of environmental studies into the educational system in Azerbaijan and emphasized BSU's role and contributions in this field.
Firuza Sultan-zade spoke about the potential to cultivate skills and talents through extracurricular activities, various projects, programs, and excursions, as well as the positive influence of these experiences on children's environmental habits.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants' questions were addressed, fostering an engaging and informative dialogue.
