Baku State University (BSU) has been elected a full member of the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA).

BSU was admitted as a member through a vote at the UNICA General Assembly held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

Founded in 1990, UNICA is an institutional network of universities located in European capitals and consists of 53 universities from 40 European capitals, all of which are represented in the top 1000 world rankings. UNICA aims to expand and strengthen international cooperation in higher education and research, enhance academic reputation, and foster connections between academic communities.

BSU is the only university representing Azerbaijan and its capital in UNICA.
