BSU Staff Participate in International CDIO ARM 2026 Seminar
Ismail Zeynalov, Director of the Azerbaijan-Korea Center for Computer Science at Baku State University (BSU), and Nihat Garibli, a staff member of the Center for Information Technologies, participated in the international training seminar CDIO Asian Regional Meeting 2026 (CDIO ARM 2026), held in Oskemen, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was organized by D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University under the theme “Next-Generation Engineering: The New Triad of Academia, Industry, and Artificial Intelligence.” The training seminar, held in Central Asia for the first time, brought together more than 50 representatives from 15 countries.
CDIO is an international initiative that brings together more than 200 higher education institutions worldwide with the aim of advancing engineering education through an integrated approach to Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate.
As part of the seminar, BSU representatives participated in roundtable discussions and experience-sharing sessions on “From Diagnosis to Action: Transforming the University Entrepreneurship Ecosystem through CDIO.” The discussions focused on approaches to prototyping student ideas and supporting their development through to the testing stage.
The experience-sharing sessions featured presentations on the application of artificial intelligence in education, the responsible use of AI in higher education, the alignment of the CDIO approach with ABET accreditation standards, and university-industry partnerships.
During the visit, the BSU representatives also held meetings with representatives of various universities and exchanged ideas and experience in engineering, innovation, and the development of higher education.
