BSU Strengthened Its Position in International Cooperation in 2025
In 2025, Baku State University (BSU) identified the development of international relations as a strategic priority and significantly expanded its cooperation with leading higher education institutions and influential international organizations in the fields of education and research. One of the key outcomes of BSU’s international integration was its admission to organizations such as the Sustainability Impact Network and the International Sustainable Campus Network.
Within the framework of cooperation agreements signed with foreign partner universities during the year, important steps were taken to conduct joint research, facilitate academic exchanges, organize seminars and conferences, and promote collaboration in scientific publications.
BSU researchers actively participate in joint research projects with international partners, gaining access to modern laboratory infrastructure and advanced scientific methodologies. This cooperation contributes to the publication of research results in prestigious international journals, enhances the exchange of scientific knowledge, and supports the integration of young researchers into the global scientific community.
The university continues to implement a student-centered internationalization policy. Through exchange and double degree programs, BSU students are given the opportunity to study in an international academic environment and become acquainted with diverse scientific schools and educational approaches.
A notable area of international cooperation in 2025 was the signing of an agreement with Anhui University (China), which provides for the awarding of double master’s degrees in Optoelectronics, Semiconductor Devices and Technology, as well as Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics. This partnership encompasses not only academic instruction but also joint research activities and the strengthening of research personnel training.
In addition, BSU students gain international research experience through double degree programs implemented jointly with Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University, the Holon Institute of Technology (Israel), and Anhui University (China), allowing them to study in diverse scientific and academic environments.
Overall, BSU’s achievements in international academic and scientific cooperation in 2025 contribute to strengthening its research capacity, improving the quality of education, and enhancing the university’s reputation within the global higher education and scientific community. In the coming years, BSU aims to further expand its international scientific partnerships and actively participate in global knowledge production.
