BSU Strengthens Its Position in the QS Europe 2026 Ranking
Baku State University (BSU) has achieved significant progress in the QS Europe 2026 Ranking. Compared to last year, the university has climbed 58 places, securing 278th position and further strengthening its standing among European universities. BSU’s overall performance improved by 68 percent year-on-year. While the university ranked 336th among 685 institutions in the previous edition, it rose to 278th place out of 958 universities in the latest ranking.
In the QS Europe 2026 Ranking, BSU recorded the best results in Azerbaijan in key indicators such as academic reputation, graduate employability, international research network, and research articles per faculty member.
According to individual indicators, BSU ranks 64th in student–faculty ratio, 82nd in employability, 157th in academic reputation, and 190th in employer reputation. In addition, the university improved its position in the QS Western Asia 2026 subcategory ranking, moving from 15th to 13th place.
Notably, Azerbaijan is represented by 15 universities in the QS Europe 2026 Ranking for the first time, reflecting a 67 percent increase compared to last year. This achievement highlights the growing international recognition of the country’s higher education system.
