Yavarbey Abdullayev, a 4th-year student at the Faculty of International Relations and Economics of Baku State University (BSU), emerged as the winner of the XIV European Championship in Shotokan Karate among youth. The championship took place in Tata, Hungary.

Competing in the 84 kg weight category, Abdullayev secured first place in both his individual category and the team competition among adults.

Yavarbey Abdullayev has been a member of the Azerbaijani national karate team for over 10 years.
