Sakina Hajiyeva, a student at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of Baku State University (BSU), set a new national under-23 women's record in the shot put at the national championships with a throw of 14.09 meters.

With this achievement, she surpassed the previous under-23 record of 14.00 meters, which had stood since 1979 and was set by Tatyana Ivanova.
