BSU Student Wins Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program
The “EcoBin” project by Nijat Hasanov, a student of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science at Baku State University (BSU) and an employee of the university’s Center for Student Scientific and Technical Creativity, has been selected as a winner of the Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program.
The EcoBin project presents an innovative agricultural system that uses solar energy and microorganisms to convert organic waste into instant compost while managing soil and water resources through artificial intelligence and IoT sensors. The project aims to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, conserve water resources, and increase farmers’ productivity.
The Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program, launched in September 2023, supports projects in social, environmental, educational, and innovation-related fields. Following expert evaluation, selected initiatives receive financial support for implementation.
