Students of the Faculty of Information and Document Management at Baku State University (BSU) participated in a practical class at the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). The class was conducted by Rashad Gardashov, Associate Professor of the Department of Library and Information Resource Management, within the framework of the course “Electronic Catalog.”

First, Director of the Central Scientific Library Huseyn Huseynov provided students with detailed information about the institution’s activities, its core principles, and modern library and information services. He spoke about the development of electronic services at the library, the expansion of the electronic library, and the digitization of publications. He also highlighted the implementation of the “Voice Search” feature on the library’s website and the creation of the “Library Guide” based on artificial intelligence technologies.

Afterwards, the students toured the library’s reprographics, digitization, and library resource management departments. Library processes were demonstrated to the students by Oruj Guliyev, Deputy Director for Digitization, Innovation, and Electronic Services, together with staff from the relevant departments. The students were also able to participate in several stages of these processes.
