BSU Students Join ICESCO’s International Aerospace Symposium in Kazakhstan
Students of Baku State University (BSU) are participating in the Model Satellite – CanSat Training Workshop & Aerospace Symposium, jointly organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
At the event, BSU students, representing Azerbaijan, will design and build a “CanSat” model satellite. Once launched, the device will measure weather parameters, capture aerial images, and transmit real-time data to the Ground Control Station (GCS) until its descent to Earth.
As part of the symposium, participants will receive training from leading specialists, experts, and aerospace engineers on the design, assembly, and testing of CanSats. The program also provides opportunities for collaboration with relevant institutions to foster research and development in aerospace technologies.
The discussions and workshops are particularly significant for advancing research in solar physics, planetary studies, Sun–Earth interactions, space weather monitoring, Earth observation, and space data analysis.
The symposium and training sessions will run until September 11.
