BSU Students Present Cutting-Edge Projects at Competition Finals
Three projects from Baku State University (BSU) have reached the finals of the “Support for Student Initiatives – Project Vernissage” competition, organized by BSU in partnership with the DOST Agency. The competition attracted 43 projects from universities across the country, featuring digital, innovative, and creative ideas, with nine projects advancing to the finals.
The project “ÜFÜQ – Ünsiyyət, Fərqindəlik, Ümid və Qayğı,” presented by Fatima Shiraliyeva from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology, aims to create a safe, anonymous digital platform where young people experiencing mental health challenges can express their feelings, receive support, and find motivation.
The “NeuroScreen” project, presented by Jamil Jafarli of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics, seeks to control smart home technologies, digital devices, and robotic organs by reading and interpreting brain signals of paralyzed patients. Using artificial intelligence, the system also monitors patients’ health in real time.
The “SƏS – Səssizlərin Səsi” project, presented by Gulgun Shafiyeva from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology, is designed to create an accessible, educational, and profitable digital platform for young people with hearing impairments. Powered by AI, the mobile and web platform allows users not only to access information but also to showcase their skills and generate income.
Finalists of the competition will have the opportunity to present their projects at the international conference “SOCGOV 2025: Artificial Intelligence for Humanity and Transformation,” scheduled to take place in Baku on October 24.
