04/11/2025

Law students from Baku State University (BSU) met with Chingiz Askerov, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, as part of the “Experience Speaks” project organized by the Ministry of Science and Education.

Speaking on the topic “The Constitution and the Rule of Law,” Askerov emphasized that the rule of law must serve as the guiding principle not only for the judiciary but for all state institutions. He noted that the real-life application of the constitutional norms is the most important indicator of the rule of law, adding that every government body should base its decisions on citizens’ interests and the provisions of the Constitution — a principle that directly affects both the quality of public administration and public trust in the state.

Held within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” the meeting featured an engaging exchange of views on the role of law in human life and the influence of constitutional values on daily decisions, civic relations, and governance.

The session concluded with a Q&A segment, where students’ questions were answered, followed by an open discussion.
