BSU Students Visit Temiz Sheher OJSC as Part of SDG Week
As part of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week, students from Baku State University (BSU) took part in an educational excursion to Temiz Sheher OJSC to learn more about waste management, recycling, and environmental awareness.
The visit aimed to familiarize students with the company’s efforts in sustainable waste practices and its role in promoting environmental education.
During the tour, Orkhan Jabbarli, Head of the Public Relations Department at Temiz Sheher OJSC, provided an in-depth overview of the organization’s operations. He emphasized the significance of proper waste management, sorting, and raising awareness among youth. Students were also shown unique and eye-catching items discovered during waste sorting, including stories of how some items were returned to their original owners.
The visit continued with a tour of the Balakhani Industrial Park. There, students learned about the park’s history, its key activities, and the operations of the Baku Solid Waste Incineration Plant.
