BSU Studies the Geological–Genetic Model of the Zafar Deposit
A scientific seminar dedicated to March 27 – Science Day was held at the Faculty of Geology of Baku State University (BSU) on the topic “Fluid Inclusions and the Geological–Genetic Model of the Zafar Deposit.”
The keynote presentation was delivered by Javid Ibrahimov, Chief Exploration Geologist at Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited and Head of the Department of Mineral Resources.
In his presentation, the speaker discussed the geological structure, structural-tectonic features, and stages of hydrothermal alteration of the Zafar deposit. He noted that the deposit was formed within the Tethyan metallogenic belt, and its formation is closely related to regional geodynamic processes.
Based on microthermometric studies of fluid inclusions, the ranges of homogenization temperatures and solution salinity were determined. Using these parameters, a physicochemical model of ore formation for the deposit was developed.
The seminar concluded with a discussion, during which the speaker answered questions from participants.
