BSU Team Wins Third Place in International CanSat Competition
A team from Baku State University (BSU) has won third place in an international competition held as part of the 5th ICESCO International CanSat Training Workshop and Aerospace Symposium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Competing against participants from nine countries, the BSU team achieved an impressive result with its self-developed CanSat model.
The programme was organised through cooperation between the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the Uzbekistan Space Research and Technology Agency, and local academic partners. It aimed to develop practical skills in space technology and promote international knowledge and experience exchange.
BSU staff members and students Emil Huseynov, Miraga Aliyev and Tahir Aliyev have participated in the programme’s training sessions since 17 October. During the sessions, they gained hands-on experience in satellite system design, microcontroller programming, sensor and communication module integration, telemetry and data analysis. Applying the knowledge and skills acquired, the team developed its own CanSat model and entered it in the competition.
