BSU Vice-Rector Attends Academic Conference of Turkic States

Baku State University (BSU) Vice-Rector Huseyn Mammadov participated in the Academic Conference of Turkic States hosted by Obuda University in Budapest, Hungary.

The conference brought together representatives from universities in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Participants discussed establishing a joint fund to support scientific research, expanding research and scholarship opportunities, organizing talent camps for advanced researchers, strengthening intercultural ties, promoting student exchanges, and exploring new avenues for academic cooperation.

The opening ceremony was attended by Hungary’s Minister of Culture and Innovation Balazs Hanko, Rector of Obuda University Levente Kovacs, President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev (online), and the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan to Hungary. Throughout the conference, meetings were held and discussions focused on developing scientific and educational partnerships, creating dual degree programs, and reaching preliminary agreements for future cooperation.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation was received by Ambassador Tahir Tagizade, who provided detailed information on the scientific, educational, and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary. The meeting also included an exchange of views on expanding university partnerships, launching joint programs and scientific projects, and implementing student and faculty exchange initiatives.
