The Hirsch Index of Baku State University (BSU) has increased by 11 points over the past year, reaching 70. The average number of citations per publication has risen to 9.05.

According to official data from the international information agency Clarivate Analytics, BSU faculty, doctoral students, and students have collectively published 4,568 scientific papers in journals indexed in the Web of Science database.

These works have been cited over 41,000 times, with 8,130 citations recorded in 2024 alone. Additionally, BSU published 303 scientific papers in Web of Science-indexed journals during 2024, although this figure is still incomplete.

BSU remains the leading Azerbaijani university in these metrics.
