Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin has today visited Baku State University. Rector Abel Maharramov briefed the Kazakh Chairman on the University’s history, activities, and international relations. Maharramov said relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan had been developing successfully. He noted friendly relations between Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev played an important role in developing ties between the two countries. The rector also spoke of cooperation between Baku State University and Kazakh universities. Nurlan Nigmatulin highlighted Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, as well as the country’s economy. The Kazakh Chairman lauded bonds between the two countries in various areas, particularly in the field of education. He also noted Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were successfully cooperating within international organizations. The Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament was presented with a keepsake.
