Faculty of Geology of Baku State University has hosted a scientific seminar entitled "The concept of geological parks in the Republic of Azerbaijan".

Talat Kangarli, Head of the Department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), corresponding member of ANAS spoke about the projects on geological parks in Azerbaijan. The scientist stressed that the Working Group conducts research in the regions of Azerbaijan and monitors geological objects.

The discussions focused on the creation of the Julfa (Ilandag), Gyrmak and Khaltan national geological parks which would meet the requirements of UNESCO.
