A delegation led by Hazir Ullah, Rector of University of Chitral, visited Baku State University (BSU).

Welcoming the guests, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani universities. He noted that joint research initiatives and academic exchange programs play an important role in enhancing the quality of higher education. The Rector also highlighted that BSU has significantly expanded its cooperation with leading higher education institutions in Pakistan in recent years, achieving notable progress in this area.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of new projects in science and education aimed at strengthening international cooperation. Discussions focused on advancing the internationalization process between the two universities, expanding academic and scientific collaboration, conducting joint research, and organizing faculty and student exchange programs.

As part of the visit, BSU and the University of Chitral signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. The memorandum envisages the implementation of joint projects, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, symposia, short-term courses, training programs, and research initiatives. It also provides for joint publications in scientific journals, the development of joint academic programs, curricula and syllabi, as well as the exchange of faculty members, administrative staff, students, master’s and doctoral candidates, and researchers.

During the visit, the guests also met with faculty members and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and toured the newly established “Pakistan Auditorium” at BSU.
