Delegation from Xi'an Shiyou University Visits Baku State University
A delegation led by Zhang Rongyun, Vice President of Xi’an Petrochemical University of the People’s Republic of China, visited Baku State University (BSU).
Welcoming the guests, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev noted that China is among the countries with which the university maintains the closest academic cooperation. He highlighted that BSU has signed memorandums and cooperation agreements with several prestigious Chinese universities and is currently implementing a dual-degree program with Anhui University.
Recalling the successful activities of BSU’s Confucius Institute, Elchin Babayev emphasized that BSU ranks second among Azerbaijani universities in terms of the number of Chinese students enrolled. He also noted that the university annually celebrates International Chinese Language Day and hosts the international “Chinese Language Bridge” competition.
Vice President of Xi’an Petrochemical University Zhang Rongyun highlighted the high level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the fields of economics, energy, culture, and education. He noted that his university was the first higher education institution in China to specialize in petrochemical studies and has a strong academic and research foundation in this field.
Zhang Rongyun praised BSU’s achievements in education, research, and internationalization, and expressed interest in developing faculty and student exchange programs, as well as strengthening academic collaboration between the two universities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation and prospects for future joint initiatives.
