Earth Day Marked at BSU

An event dedicated to Earth Day was held at Baku State University (BSU).

Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Magsad Gojamanov, spoke about the formation of the Earth and the importance of fundamental knowledge for understanding environmental challenges. Head of the Department of General and Historical Geology, Nazim Imamverdiyev, highlighted the Earth’s internal structure, tectonic processes, and their impact on natural hazards.

Lecturer at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, Shahnaz Amanova, addressed the theme of sustainable cities, emphasizing environmental protection, efficient land use, and sustainable urban development.

The event also featured discussions on climate change, land degradation, biodiversity loss, and resource management. An interactive quiz was held, with winners receiving awards and active participants presented with certificates.
