ECOLEAD Project Expands Green Spaces in Baku
As part of the ECOLEAD project (Strengthening the Environment: Education and Law Enforcement), a large-scale tree-planting campaign was held in honor of the 102nd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth. The campaign saw the planting of 500 trees across 2 hectares in Baku’s Surakhani district.
The event brought together Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, senior officials and staff of the Prosecutor's Office, Rector of Baku State University Elchin Babayev and university representatives, as well as officials from the State Environmental Safety Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. Representatives from the Green Farms Association under the Baku City Executive Authority and the Executive Authority of Surakhani District also took part.
To date, the ECOLEAD project has resulted in the planting of over 2,200 trees across a total area of 10 hectares, spanning the Surakhani, Nasimi, Binagadi, Yasamal, and Khatai districts of Baku.
