As part of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" initiative, the Department of Geodesy and Cartography at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU) has published the textbook Ecological Cartography for higher education institutions.

The book was co-authored by the Head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography, Associate Professor Afgan Talibov, and department lecturer Irina Verpatova. This textbook aims to enhance teaching at the Faculty of Geography and other universities offering the course "Ecological Cartography." It also serves as a comprehensive instructional guide for students in their respective languages of study.

The scientific editor of the textbook is Professor Meksed Godzhamanov, Dean of the Faculty of Geography, while the reviewers include Associate Professors Ramiz Akhlimanov and Shamil Azizov.

It is noteworthy that Ecological Cartography is the first textbook on this subject published in the Azerbaijani language.
