Egyptian Ambassador Visits Baku State University
Rector of Baku State University Elchin Babayev met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Houssam-Eldine Reda.
The rector noted that Azerbaijan maintains successful cooperation and friendly relations with Arab states, emphasizing that collaboration in science, education, and culture has made an important contribution to bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Arab countries.
Elchin Babayev highlighted that the Faculty of Oriental Studies is one of the oldest faculties at BSU and provided information about the teaching of Arabic and the faculty’s achievements in this field. He stated that BSU is open to broader cooperation and underscored the importance of signing memorandums with higher education institutions in Arab countries, including Egypt, conducting joint research, and developing dual-degree programs.
Ambassador Hussam Eldin Reda noted that Azerbaijan and Egypt are connected by deep cultural and historical ties. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in science and education for the further development of bilateral relations and said such collaboration would help strengthen academic and cultural ties between BSU and Egyptian universities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between BSU and higher education institutions in Egypt.
