Baku State University (BSU) hosted Egyptian and Azerbaijani Culture Day with the support of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Center for Cultural and Educational Relations of the Embassy of Egypt.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panahov emphasized that Azerbaijan and Egypt are countries with ancient histories and rich cultural heritage. He noted that both nations have made significant contributions to the development of world civilization, and that these shared values provide a strong foundation for mutual respect and cooperation. He added that diplomatic relations between the two countries continue to develop successfully in the political, economic, scientific, and humanitarian spheres.

Shahin Panahov highlighted education as one of the key areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt. He noted that BSU has established academic ties with several prestigious Egyptian universities through faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, international conferences, and cultural initiatives. According to him, these partnerships are particularly valuable in the fields of Oriental Studies, Arabic language, and Islamic culture.

Egyptian Ambassador Ambassador Houssam-Eldine Reda thanked the BSU administration for organizing the event and noted that science, education, and culture serve as powerful tools for bringing the two countries closer together.

The event featured a video presentation showcasing the historical and tourist attractions of Azerbaijan and Egypt. Students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at BSU and the Azerbaijan University of Languages delivered presentations in Arabic on the historical monuments and cultural heritage of both countries.

Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Aidan Khandan and Tariq Mohammad Abul Fotuh, Head of the Center for Cultural and Educational Relations at the Embassy of Egypt, also addressed the audience.

At the conclusion of the event, the Ambassador presented certificates to the leadership and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
