The next stage of the international educational program Euronews Academy, dedicated to “TV and Live Journalism,” has started at Baku State University (BSU) as part of a joint initiative between the Media Development Agency and Euronews.

Fernando Soares, Executive Director of Euronews in Baku, emphasized that live journalism represents a new generation of media practice based on direct audience engagement and the principle of participation. He noted that the training program enables journalists to refine their skills in presenting live events with factual accuracy and emotional balance. This initiative, he added, plays an important role in strengthening credibility in the information space and maintaining public trust.

Natig Mammadli, Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, highlighted the growing importance of improving the quality of television journalism and adopting modern technological innovations in today’s media environment. He stressed that international cooperation projects such as this one contribute to enhancing the knowledge and skills of young journalists, aligning national television content with international standards, and supporting the sustainable development of the media sector.

The training program began in a dedicated auditorium of the Media Development Agency at BSU with the topic “Preparing Television News, Television Reports, and Live Broadcasts.”

Participants gained practical experience in preparing news stories, structuring broadcast materials, and managing live broadcasts during a presentation by Boyan Brkic, Head of the Astana Bureau of Euronews — a professional journalist and media executive with extensive experience in television broadcasting.

The training continues with interactive lectures, practical exercises, group discussions, and analyses of television news content.

The Euronews Academy training program will run until November 14.
