Baku State University (BSU) has hosted an international online conference entitled "The role of Heydar Aliyev in strengthening and developing of the state independence of Azerbaijan", dedicated to the 98th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The conference participants visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of national leader, founder and architect of the modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev. The first plenary meeting of the Conference was opened by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev. He spoke about the multifaceted activities of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and his historical merits in preserving the independent statehood and national unity. “By returning to power in the most difficult days in June, 1993, Heydar Aliyev actually voluntarily assumed a very difficult and honorable mission such as to save the Republic of Azerbaijan”, - said Elchin Babayev.
Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Baku State University, Professor Ali Akhmedov made presentation on the role of Heydar Aliyev in strengthening and developing of the state independence of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by Ziyafat Asgarov, First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (Milli Majlis), Professor at Baku State University; Alexander Merezhko, the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor; Oleg Zaychuk, Full Member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor; Anar Iskenderov, Deputy of the Milli Majlis, Head of the Department at BSU; Leonid Timchenko, Professor at the National University of Tax Service of Ukraine; Güler Demir, Assistant Dean of the University of Kastamonu of Turkey, Associate Professor; Aron Salimgerey, Professor at the Al-Farabi National University of Kazakhstan; Ibrahim Zeynalov, Professor of the Faculty of History of BSU; lecturer Anar Hamidov and other officials.
