An online event dedicated to the Azerbaijan Youth Day was held at Baku State University (BSU). The event was moderated by BSU Vice-Rector on Social Affairs, Student Affairs and Public Relations Alish Agamirzayev. He delivered the opening speech to congratulate the Azerbaijani youth and emphasize their important role in the implementation of political, economic, humanitarian and social activities.
BSU rector Elchin Babayev emphasizing that the solemn celebration of Youth Day is associated with the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev stated that he laid the foundation of the state youth policy in Azerbaijan, which is successfully continued today by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. “BSU trains students to enable them to actively participate in the socio-political and cultural life of Azerbaijan, make a significant contribution to the formation of the national statehood idea”, said Elchin Babayev. He honored the memory of the worthy sons of our Motherland, who gave their lives for the liberation of our lands under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Elchin Babayev noted the importance of the participation of Azerbaijani youth in restoration of the liberated lands.
The event was attended by Executive director of Youth Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Executive Director of Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Orkhan Arabov, MPs Sevinj Fataliyeva and Shahin Seidzade and other officials.
Also during the event “Young Scientist of the Year" Award winners were announced. Both Habiba Shirinova and Aytekin Ibrahimova received a prize of 2000 Manat. Haji Vahid Akhundzade and Pervin Eyvazov, who took second place, were awarded with diplomas.
