Experts Discuss Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Caucasus at BSU
A scientific seminar titled “Modern Challenges in the Caucasus: Artificial Intelligence, Science, and Innovation” was held at the Faculty of History of Baku State University (BSU) by the Department of History of the Peoples of the Caucasus.
Head of the department, Professor Irada Huseynova, emphasized the geopolitical, cultural, and economic importance of the South Caucasus region. She noted that current development priorities focus on strengthening regional cooperation, ensuring stability in the post-conflict period, and advancing scientific and technological development, including artificial intelligence.
Bakhtiyar Gasanov, a leading researcher at the A. A. Bakikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, delivered a presentation on the growing role of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and innovation in modern society. He highlighted the increasing impact of AI on scientific research, including faster data analysis and new opportunities for studying complex issues, while also noting potential risks.
The seminar also addressed regional challenges such as post-conflict recovery, economic integration, environmental security, and the development of cooperation and digital economy initiatives in the South Caucasus.
