Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassodor of the İran İslamic Republic was in BSU
Rector Abel Maharramov recieved the new assigned Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassodor of the İran İslamic Republic in Azerbaijan, Mammadbagır Bahrami. Rector spoke about the foundation history, development stages, international relations of BSU, and its mutual relitionships with the high education establishments of İran İslamic Republic.
Ambassador pointed the friendship between two countries which is also being exercised by the Presidents of the countries . Rector informed that the Persian language and literature have been taught for 60 years and the number of students who want to get master's degree. Rector also spoke about the problem of Nagorno Karabakh and the role of national unity of muslim countries in the problem settlement . Ambassador said that Azerbaijan and İran have the same religion, culture and they are brother and friend countries, he especially pointed the necessity of having relations in the education sphere. The ambassador pointed his interest in holding joint conferences and meetings, creating close cooperation. He noted that İranian government supports territorial integrety of Azerbaijan. Rector highly appreciates the ambassador's suggestions and mentioned that it’s important to have close relations in all spheres.
At the end of this meeting, the ambassador invited academician Abel Maharramov to his country, and he, in his turn invited the rector of Tehran University to our country. İt was decided to sign an agreement on mutual cooperation between universities.
