On May 23, 2023, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Baku State University (BSU) hosted the Republican scientific conference titled "Issues of Oriental Philology." The conference was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

During the event, the opening speech was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Aidan Khandan, and the Deputy Dean, Nigar Ismayilzade.

Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, Professor of the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Literature, Member of Parliament, Academician Rafael Huseynov; Professor of the Department of Turkish Philology, MP Jalya Aliyeva; Associate Professor of the Department of Arabic Philology Tarlan Malikov made speech at the event.

The speakers focused on highlighting the historical contributions of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in preserving our independence and fostering the development of our culture.
