Faculty of Philology hosts scientific seminar on Ahmed Yasawi and Yunus Emre creation
The Faculty of Philology of Baku State University has hosted a scientific seminar on the topic "The influence of Ahmed Yasawi on the work of Yunus Emre", organized by the Student Scientific Society.
The seminar was attended by faculty and students, as well as guests from Turkey and Uzbekistan.
Professor Hamidullah Baltabaev, Head of the Department of Uzbek Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan made presentation entitled “The influence of Ahmed Yasawi on the work of Yunus Emre”. Hamidullah Baltabayev emphasized the Ahmed Yasawi's contribution to the development of Turkic literature. The scientist noted that scholars such as Fuat Koprulu, Mustafa Tatchi, Mehmet Sheker, Necdet Yilmaz in Turkey, Hamid Arasli and Kamil Veliyev in Azerbaijan conducted research on common ideological themes in the poems of Ahmed Yasawi and the Sufi poet Yunus Emre.
Ramiz Asker, Head of the Department of Turkic Studies at BSU, spoke about the research works of Khamidullah Baltabayev as well as activities aimed to strengthen the Azerbaijani-Uzbek scientific and cultural ties.
