Final Round of the 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad Held
The final round of the 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad took place, bringing together more than 100 students who had successfully advanced from the national stage. The event was hosted at Baku State University (BSU) and Secondary School No. 3 in Nakhchivan.
The winners of the Olympiad will now participate in preparatory classes ahead of the 18th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, set to be held in India.
Leading up to the final round, specialists from the Republican Center for Child and Youth Development and BSU conducted online training sessions for students who had qualified from the national stage. These sessions not only helped them prepare for the national final but also provided early preparation for the upcoming International Olympiad.
Participants studied topics aligned with the competition’s curriculum and practiced solving problems similar to those encountered at the international level.
Preparatory training for the winners of the 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad will continue in the coming months.
It is worth noting that the 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad is held under the general sponsorship of the Tusi-Bom Planetarium, the only planetarium in the South Caucasus. Additionally, the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan supports the national team’s participation in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.
