The final round of the 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad is scheduled to take place on March 15 at 11:00.
This decisive stage will be held at Baku State University (BSU) and Secondary School No. 3 in Nakhchivan, bringing together students who scored over 75 points in the republican round of the competition.
The 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad is organized jointly by BSU, the Institute of Education, the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after N. Tusi, the Republican Center for Child and Youth Development, and the Public Association "Society of Amateur Astronomers." Winners of the Olympiad will be awarded medals and gifts and will also have the opportunity to participate in preparatory classes for the 18th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, set to take place in India from August 11-21 this year.
Preparatory classes for both the 5th Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad and the 17th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad are being conducted with the support of the South Caucasus’ only planetarium—the Tusi-Bom Planetarium.
