The first assembly of the Board of Baku State University (BSU) trustees has taken place.

Among the participants were Farakh Alieva, the Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy Issues affiliated to the Presidential Executive Office, and the members of the Board.

The meeting contained speeches by Jeyhun Bairamov, the Secretary of Education, and Elchin Babayev, the Principal of BSU.

It is important to highlight that the Board of trustees is determined to ensure the authorised activity of the university and contribute to tackling contemporary problems which would hamper its development. Alongside this, the managing authority of the Board is focused on improving competitiveness of the local education services, supporting the university as a centre of academic research, education, culture, and intellectual development, stimulating the collaboration of the university and governmental, social, and business organisations.

Apart from supporting collaboration within the sphere of international education, science, technology, and culture, the Board will be introducing off-budget finances into the university, advancing its infrastructures, and upgrading its facilities and resources.
