Food Safety Training Held at Baku State University
The Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU) organized a training session titled “Food Safety and Engineering: New Paths and Extensive Opportunities for Students.”
In her opening remarks, Faculty Dean Afet Mammadova noted that such initiatives offer students valuable opportunities to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience and gain insights into modern production processes. She emphasized that ensuring food safety and compliance with quality standards is a global priority, and mastering modern approaches in this area is essential for future specialists.
The session was conducted by Javid Gurbanzade, Head of Department at Azerbaijan Fish Farm LLC, who spoke about international quality management systems applied in the food industry, including ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and HACCP standards. He also provided information on enterprise-level quality control, risk assessment, industrial safety regulations, and environmental responsibility principles.
The training concluded with an interactive discussion, during which students’ questions were addressed on topics such as career prospects in food engineering, certification processes, and technological innovation.
