Four BSU Chemistry Students Pursue Dual Degrees in China
Four students from the Faculty of Chemistry at Baku State University (BSU) — Nazly Mammadova, Orkhan Gasimzade, Zuleikha Abbasova and Aysel Hamidova — are continuing their studies at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) under a dual-degree programme.
The agreement between the two universities was signed on April 21, and the students began their studies in China on September 1 following a multi-stage selection process.
The students highlighted the programme's role in expanding their academic knowledge, strengthening their laboratory and research skills, and providing international experience. They also expressed their appreciation for BSU's organisational and financial support, which made their participation possible.
They noted that BUCT's modern research facilities, advanced laboratory equipment and emphasis on practical training create valuable opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge and develop independent research skills.
According to the students, the programme offers more than the opportunity to earn two degrees: it provides an important foundation for future academic and research activities while fostering international academic cooperation.
