Professor Renaldas Gudauskas, the General Director of the National Library of Lithuania, delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU) on the topic "The Role of National Libraries in Society's Information Provision."

Professor Renaldas Gudauskas spoke about the history, developmental periods, and activities of the National Library of Lithuania, which he leads. The speaker emphasized that besides playing a leading role in safeguarding the national heritage of nations, libraries also make a significant contribution to the formation of international scientific, literary-cultural, and societal connections. The guest explained the conditions and methods of international book exchange. The professor discussed the requirements placed on library information resources and new forms of management. The lecture also included a comparative analysis of libraries from different countries and explanations of innovative working methods.
