The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and Baku State University (BSU) have created the ECOLEAD platform for environmental protection. A memorandum of understanding was signed at the scientific-practical conference "The Role of Education and Law Enforcement Measures in Strengthening the Environment," organized by the General Prosecutor's Office in Khankendi.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Deputy Prosecutor General Heydar Mamedov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Taghiyeva, and BSU Rector Elchin Babayev.

Speaking at the conference, Chief Prosecutor Kamran Aliyev stated that the aim of creating the ECOLEAD platform is to strengthen the environment through educational and law enforcement measures, coordinate the actions of experts in the field of environmental protection, facilitate effective organization and development of multilateral relationships by sharing existing experience in these areas, investigate illegal activities against the environment, prevent violations, collect and exchange knowledge and information, and expand cooperative relationships.

BSU Rector Elchin Babayev noted that the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the creation of the ECOLEAD platform is an important step in uniting efforts to combat environmental crimes and protect our natural heritage.
