Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev met with the Head of the Department of History of Azerbaijan at the Humboldt University of Berlin, professor Eva-Maria Auch as well as with the teaching staff of this university Rasim Mirzoyev and Christian Wilhelm.

Rector Elchin Babayev highly appreciated the various projects carried out at  the Department of History of Azerbaijan to promote Azerbaijan's history, culture, literature and language. Baku State University is willing to expand its relations with the Department of History of Azerbaijan at the Humboldt University of Berlin to a new level, rector Elchin Babayev said.

Professor Eva-Maria Auch noted that the Humboldt University of Berlin – is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Germany and the whole Europe. The Department of History of Azerbaijan attracted great interest as Azerbaijan is the largest and the most developed country in the Caucasus. The teaching stuff of the Department offer the students interesting lectures about the history of Azerbaijan, seminars and master classes.

At the meeting parties discussed such issues as participation in the ERASMUS program, training for the bachelor, master and PhD students, joint events and seminars and other issues of mutual interest.
